After losing to Ghana last week, Togo showed what comebacks are made of by beating Togo and advancing to the quarterfinals for the second time in a row.

Togo opened the scoring early with a 5th-minute penalty converted by Komlan Assignon. But the powerful Tunisians struck back with two goals in as many minutes from strikers Zied Tlemcani and Ben Slimane.

The North Africans missed a chance to widen the gap when Bechir Sahbni's penalty kick was saved by Togo's star goalkeeper Nibombe Wake.

Togo's fate was sealed with 11 minutes left to play as Hassen Gabsi slipped through the defense unchallenged and rifled home his team's third goal.

"We are apprehensive going into the game with Togo, even more so after going a goal down so early," Tunisian striker Zaed Tlemcani said.

"But we played very well tonight. Our coach changed the system to 3-4-3 and it worked, especially for me, as I had Ben Slimane and Gabsi [Hassen] either side of me. We all scored."

Tunisia will meet hosts Burkina Faso in the quarterfinals.

"They may be a young and talented side but against our greater professionalism I'm sure we will win," Tlemcani predicted.

On Tuesday, Morocco meets Egypt and Zambia plays Mozambique for the final two places in the quarterfinals.
