CASABLANCA, Morocco January 15, 98 (Reuters).
Morocco beat Angola 2-1 in a friendly match staged Wednesday as part of preparations for the finals of the African Nations Cup in Burkina Faso next month.
The appearance of former world heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali at the kick-off was a highlight for the capacity crowd of 80,000. Admission was free because of the Moslem holy month of Ramadan.
Angola led in the first half through an own goal by Youssef Rossi in the 35th minute, but Morocco scored twice after the interval to seal their victory.
Morocco's Mustapha Hajji headed in a goal in the 51st minute from a free kick by Abdelkrim Hadrioui.
Then a long Rossi cross gave Abderrahim Ouakili the chance to score seven minutes later.
