Present State 35 000 places. The stadium, erected on an island between two branches of the Garonne, is close to the city centre. Conversion : This will bring the capacity to 37,000 seated places, after the construction of new tiers.

 During the 24 centuries of its history, Toulouse has gone through many conflicts and upheavals. Its name was for a long time associated with the Catharian epic. The city was built on the banks of the Garonne, and developed under successive crowns: after a Roman castrum and a Visigoth city, came a succession of Medieval and Renaissance cities.
Although it lapsed into a certain state of inertia during the 19th century, Toulouse has now acquired a reputation that is both intellectual (a university founded in 1229, scientific research, musical tradition) and industrial (aerospace, information technology, electronics, chemicals, biology, agronomy) which makes it one of the major cities in southwestern France. |
During the Eighties, Toulouse had the highest growth rate among the larger French cities. Today it has become an important focal point of high technology in France and has thus taken on a European dimension. As it was spared by the two world wars, its architectural heritage has remained intact. The buildings in pink brick have been patiently restored, giving the city an exceptionally warm color and atmosphere, backed by an intense cultural life.
