Final - Egypt wins Africa Nations Cup

OUAGADOUGOU, February 28 (Reuters)
Egypt won the African Nations Cup on Saturday for the fourth time, beating defending champion South Africa 2-0 in a one-sided final.

A hugely disappointing and ultimately outclassed South Africa never appeared to get back into the game after Egypt took a two-goal lead in the first 13 minutes.

Ahmed Hassan fired Egypt ahead with a 25-meter drive in the fifth minute after the South Africa defense allowed him too much time and space. Tarek Mostapha finished off a neatly-worked free kick eight minutes later.

Egypt missed four clear chances to extend its lead before halftime while South Africa hardly threatened the Pharaohs' goal throughout the match

Egypt coach Mahmoud El-Gohari became the first man to win the trophy as player and coach, having been in Egypt's 1959 title-winning team.
